Hello! I am Dr. Kristoff Paulson, a space scientist who studies the energy exchange between plasma particles and waves in our Heliosphere, and how perturbations and transients generated by the Sun affect the solar wind and the near-Earth environment. Basically, I look at the wiggles in the magnetic and electric field measurements in space, and try to figure out where that energy comes from and goes to.
I currently work at the Center for Astrophysics assisting with the Parker Solar Probe mission. We study the thermal plasma in the solar wind as the spacecraft successively moves closer and closer to the Sun's surface, eventually flying through the coronal plasma itself!
